We had the opportunity to work at a resort to install some outdoor WiFi access points and cameras. Installing UniFi cameras and wireless access points on a pole using a Flex Switch is a great solution for extending surveillance and Wi-Fi coverage outdoors. We used two g5 bullet cameras and two U7 outdoor access points, We added a flex switch on the pole and ran a cat6 feed line to a junction box that had existing Gigabyte POE hardwired internet.
This was about a three hour install job, and another hour to adopt and properly configure the wireless channels and power output. I like to aim these down a bit as to paint the wanted area with wireless and provide a better end user experience.
We utilize stainless mounts, clamps, and hardware on all our installs. This will ensure many years of life and endure high winds.
